Virtual Extrusion Laboratory™ 2DFEM
The VEL™, 2D FEM module is a powerful and efficent tool that can be used to analyze and optimize the following extrusion flow fields:
- Coextrusion merge regions (upto 10 materials).
 - Planar geometries such as transitions from extruder to adaptor and adaptor to die.
 - Axi-symmetric flow fields such as a spider die.
 
The VEL™, 2D FEM module can be used in the following extrusion applications:
- pipe and tubing
 - blow molding
 - flat sheet and film
 - blown film
 
The VEL™ , 2DFEM Module has been used to solve the following extrusion problems: 
- Degradation in adaptor region.
 - Degradation in cable coating.
 - Interfacial instabilities in feedblock coextrusion.
 - Interfacial instabilies in blown film extrusion.
 - Irregular surface in cast film extrusion.
